Definition:


Under general direction, the Infant and Toddler Site Lead fulfills the role of Site Supervisor and teacher as defined by Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations.

Oversees the daily operation of the child development center where assigned. The liaison between Early Learning Program Central Administration and the District or Special Education Site Administrator. Organizes and conducts parent education and parent engagement activities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a list of duties that is representative of the position that includes but is not limited to:

  • Teaches in collaboration to assigned teaching team, in accordance with the Early Learning programs Preschool Teacher job description
  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulations (i.e. Title 22, Title 5, Head Start, Early Head Start, California State Preschool Program, and Early Learning Program Performance Standards)
  • Provides direction, guidance, support, and evaluates, assigned staff
  • Supervises and supports enrollment process and assures children are enrolled in accordance with program Policy and Procedures
  • Monitors and supervises all activities within the center to assure that enrolled children and their families receive comprehensive Early Learning Program Services in accordance with Performance
Standards and the grantee plan of action

  • Prepares and submits supply requisitions within center budget allowance and maintains inventory of center supplies
  • Makes regular classroom observations for the purpose of strengthening the early childhood education provided to children and assuring developmentally appropriate practices
  • Oversees a daily inspection of the facility and equipment to assure a clean, safe, and orderly environment
  • Prepares and/or oversees the preparation of children and family records and assures that children and family records are correct, upto date, and kept confidential
  • Responsible for the preparation, accuracy, and submission in a timely manner of program records reports, such as attendance, lunch count, etc.
  • Monitors center screening and assessments to ensure the requirements are completed according to the schedule, reviews assessment ratings to support tool fidelity, and leads the team to review data to inform classroom planning and professional development
  • Communicates regularly with parents, assisting them to take an active role in their child's education, growth, and development
  • Provides or arranges for parent training in child growth and development. Initiates a set of standards for the center to assure a positive environment for learning and working together
  • Identifies the need for and requests ancillary and/or support services
  • Cooperates in a professional and ethical manner with others involved with the program and/or individual children
  • Schedules and facilitates case review meetings and center staff meetings
  • Attends training meetings, management team meetings, and other meetings as required
  • Carries out authorized emergency and safety procedures and administers first aid
  • Supports program and school readiness goals
  • Utilizes electronic records systems for documentation
  • Review and assist staff in preparing lesson plans, plan and attend events
  • Prepare parent newsletter
  • Plans and implements high quality and developmentally appropriate educational experiences for Infants/ Toddlers in a centerbased classroom
  • Conducts the required number of Home Visits and parent conferences in an assigned caseload
  • Plans and implements parent involvement in their child's education program
  • Administers developmental screening and assessments on each child within required timelines
  • Facilitates developmental, health and nutrition screenings within required timelines; works with parents and the Health & Family Services Specialist to ensure that all immunizations and other medical and dental followup is completed; serves as a role model for health, safety and hygiene practices
  • Develops and implements the Individual Development Plan for each child, parent and family, within 45 days of enrollment
  • Administers or facilitates completion of family strengths and needs assessments within required timelines
  • Assists families in developing the Individual Family Deve
