Description

This is a part time position working at Northwest Medical Center Houghton.

Summary:


Performs all aspects of the sterilization process including decontamination, assembly, packaging and the biological and chemical monitoring of the sterilizers.

Acts as a resource to the operating room staff. Responsible for requisitioning all autoclaving supplies, instruments and implantable devices used in the daily operation of the department.


Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Education:


Required:
High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience

Preferred:
Sterile Processsing Tech certification course


Experience:


Preferred:
Previous experience with surgical instrumentation/equipment processing and terminology.


Skills:

Ability to follow written / oral instructions and established procedures, and to give / receive oral and written communication. Ability to learn and retain information. Basic computer skills. Ability to learn Sterile Processing computer systems.


Licenses/Certifications:

None required.
