The Leidos Defense Group Integrated Force Protection team is seeking a motivated
Chief Engineer
to assist the CBRN portfolio on an exciting Development and Integration effort.
The ideal candidate would have experience with CBRN community and have a background in systems engineering and agile software delivery.
The program uses Agile Software Development methodologies and digital engineering techniques that require experienced technical leadership.Please note:

Primary ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include providing technical leadership at a strategic level, developing new solutions that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace, engaging direct contract support to the program manager, customer shaping efforts, requirements gathering, and proposal support activities, leveraging understanding of industry trends and Leidos capabilities for product development and system integration within the CBRN domain:
Technical Leadership role to drive team towards agile delivery of integrated software and hardware products
Technical solutioning and system trade studies including Analysis of Alternatives
Mentor and coach other technical staff
Systems Engineering - design and development, test and evaluation, and verification, validation, and accreditation
Drive and maintain close working relationship and trusted partnership with customer team
Drive growth for portfolio in similar markets
Utilize digital Engineering and Model-Based System Engineering preferably with Cameo
Collaborates with other technical experts to develop highly innovative
solutions
Demonstrates system
hardware-software-network
design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding in Agile environment to DoD customers
Evaluates alternative cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems
Perform r equirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance
Basic Qualifications:
BS
in a technical discipline with a minimum of 19+ years of relevant experience Or a Master's
degree with 15+ years of prior relevant experience.
Experience with Trade Studies or analysis of alternatives to research and recommend technical solutions
System lifecycle experience developing and integrating software products to multiple military branches
Previous Chief Engineer or technical leadership positions leading technical staff with multiple competencies to execute and deliver product: example cyber, systems, software, safety
Experience with applications and system of systems integrations with multiple sensors and data connections
Heavy experience in systems engineering and software development industry best practices with practicable knowledge to apply critical thinking to drive team towards innovative solutions
Previous experience in DoD platforms
Experience in modernization and containerizing integrating legacy applications into a common framework
Working knowledge of Kafka and Kubernetes integrations
Agile Software development experience
Ability to staff and manage data scientist team in developing advanced analytics applications
Heavy experience in technical lead role as primary technical contact to government customers
Demonstrates expert knowledge of advanced technologies and concepts, and is known as a subject matter expert by peers internal and external to the organization
Experience with and leadership of Model Based Systems Engineering team and software automation with SysML
Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
INCOSE CSEP or ESEP Certification
SAFe Agile Certification or similar
AWS or other Cloud certification
Experience with Leading multi-disciplinary teams towards integrated time-sensitive solutions
CBRNE experience with systems development to meet fielded operations
Experience integrating sensor systems
Experience with prototype systems development and testing for electromechanical systems
Knowledge of Test planning and validation of integrated physical and data systems to meet requirements
Network Engineering complex network environments across DODIN involving multicast streaming
Experience with C2IMERA, CANES, GCCS, or CPCE
Experience with HPAC, JEM, JWARN and legacy CBRN tools
Experience with CBRN use cases, customers and development
Past experience with Sensor Integration and/or Integrated Sensor Architecture
Experience with developing MOSA applications to various DoD standards
Experience with Evaluating, Accrediting, and Integrating Cross Domain Solutions
Strong background in Cybersecurity and ideally experience with Zero trust integration
DoD 8570 IAT II or higher Certification
Security Clearance Requirement:
The ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance
Pay Range:
Pay Range $142, $257,325.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
