- Oversee and mentor band teachers in the development of best practices in the instrumental ensemble rehearsal.
- Assist Director of Instrumental Music in coordinating and monitoring band programs throughout the District.
- Assist executive administration in long-term, strategic goal development; implement strategic goals at the campus level.
- Model best instructional techniques for teachers and staff.
- Diagnose instruction and performance weaknesses; provide recommendations and assist the implementation of improved techniques.
- Assist in the selection and development of instructional materials.
- Observe and provide written feedback to teacher/supervisor(s).
- Assist in planning and management of District-wide events.
- Collaborate with principals, campus and District staff, state colleagues and external stakeholders to raise the quality of the program.
- Assist and encourage implementation of technology in the rehearsal and individual practice rooms.

- Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions. Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Music or Music Education required; Master's degree from accredited college or university in Music or Music Education preferred.
- Certification/License: Valid Texas Teaching certificate with the endorsement in the area of Music required.
- Experience: 4 years' experience as a classroom teacher, consultant, and/or clinician required. 15 years' successful teaching experience in area of Band preferred;
- Additional Experience: Experience evaluating instructional programs and teaching effectiveness preferred; Evidence of consistent Superior ratings at the TMEA Region at UIL (or state equivalent) level preferred; Evidence of advancing to the UIL TMEA State (or state equivalent) level in concert competition preferred; Winner or recipient of National and/or International competitions and awards preferred.
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) working proficiency preferred in some settings.
