- Serve as a key member of the due diligence team to work collaboratively across the company supporting a wide variety of clients with numerous challenging projects.
- Support the development and integration of sustainability, environmental justice, climate resilience, and ESG into our transactional due diligence practice.
- Serve in a primary role to lead teams and personally conduct thorough ASTM Phase I site assessments to evaluate environmental risks associated with real estate transactions.
- Serve in a secondary role to perform regulatory compliance reviews and assessments aligned with due diligence and other projects.
- Analyze geological and environmental data to identify potential hazards or contamination on sites.
- Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather and interpret data for accurate risk assessments.
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide solutions.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members in conducting due diligence activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of due diligence processes.
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 8-12 years of experience in conducting due diligence activities, preferably in the real estate or environmental consulting industry.
- Certification or licensure in relevant areas (e.g., Professional Geologist, Certified Environmental Professional) preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of ASTM site assessment standards and methodologies.
- Proficiency in interpreting geological and environmental data to assess risks and impacts.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental compliance, including but not limited to, EPA regulations.
- Ability to perform regulatory compliance reviews and assessments related to due diligence and other compliance projects.
- Ability to support permitting projects and environmental compliance reporting.
- Ability to support preparation of sustainability, environmental justice, climate resilience, and ESG reports.
- Proven skills in constructive client engagement, resulting in successful project outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to technical details.
- Ability to present to and support clients with negotiating with regulators.
- Computer Skills - Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing, reviewing and editing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates preferred, and strong commitment to safety.
- Must be willing to travel as needed to support clients, projects, and project team collaboration.
