The Director of Insights is accountable for leading a team focused on Business Products, Data, Data Governance, Data Science, and Analytics for E&PS.

This role is responsible for setting the near and long-term strategy for Data & Business Products across E&PS - driving systems roadmap standardization, business products selection and design, and data input/output standards.

Implementing a sustainable data governance program is a critical element and responsibility of this role.

Insights, Analytics and Planning (IAP) will enable the rest of the E&PS organization to meet its objectives, providing a strong data and digital foundation.

The team will also drive the deployment and adoption of standard processes and frameworks across IAP and E&PS teams.


Key relationships include other IAP teams leveraging central analytics pool, regional/functional E&PS teams, JJT and other enterprise J&J functions (e.g., Finance) to effectively manage data governance, analytics, and business products across E&PS.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for setting the strategy and building / driving a roadmap spanning across data management, data & analytics governance and capabilities, and digital landscape of tools and platforms
  • Lead Analytics, Data & Digital, and Business Products for E&PS embedding perspectives and actively looking for ways to make the E&PS organization's decisionmaking datadriven and efficient
  • Coordinate closely with the IAP Strategic Program Management, Portfolio Management, Sector Engagement, & Operations teams to support standards, processes, and tool/system/platform/data governance
  • Promote and facilitate the development of data management and analytics tools to optimize E&PS performance planning, monitoring, and reporting capabilities
  • Establish customerfocused partnership (internal and external to E&PS) to effectively deliver knowledge and innovation throughout the organization
  • Develop, drive, and participate in harmonization of E&PS processes, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Accountable for the definition of the functional competencies, and the overall learning and development strategy and plan for IAP Analytics, Data, and Business Products teams

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field including, but not limited to: Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science and/or IT is required.
  • Advanced degree(s) preferred in Data Science, Business Analytics and/or Business Administration.

Experience and Skills:


Required:


  • Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
  • Previous experience leading crossfunctional teams and programs across Business Analytics, Data & Digital, & Business Products assuring successful delivery of strategy, roadmap, and programs
  • Experience in data management fields, enterprise business products strategy, data and analytics tools, and data visualization
  • Excellence in storytelling communication and communicating complex information to technical and nontechnical customers
  • Excellence in technical and analytical skills
  • Successful track record of leading a team at large, multinational enterprises
  • Strong program management skills, organization, coordination, and actiontracking skills
  • Ability to effectively partner and deliver results in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to function effectively and multitask when presented with tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and social skills with the capability of interacting with senior business leaders
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

Preferred:


  • Experience within global medical device or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in either Facilities, Real Estate, or Project Management
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL, querying, macros, etc.)
  • Experience with software management and website development (CSS, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
  • Experience in setting strategy and deploying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning use cases

  • Proficiency in English language is required
  • This position may require up to 25% domestic and/or international travel
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $142,000 to $244,950.
