Research Associate Coordinator (Limited Term)

Who we are:

Since 2008, the Notre Dame International Security Center (NDISC) has provided a forum for national security scholars at the University of Notre Dame and elsewhere to come together to explore the most pressing issues in national security policy.


Through research, teaching, and public affairs programming, NDISC aims to connect policymakers and the public with the very best scholarship in the academy on issues of international security, broadly defined.

The
Research Associate Coordinator is for a recent Ph.
D.

who would like to turn their dissertation into a book manuscript and work on related articles towards the mission of the Notre Dame International Security Center.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Research complete book manuscript and associated articles
  • Participation in Notre Dame International Security Center Seminars and International Relations Workshops.
  • Serve as a mentor to graduate and undergraduate students in the fellows program

_**_This is a one-year, limited-term position._


Minimum Qualifications:


  • PhD in Political Science or related field
  • Training in econometric and statistical techniques employed in randomized evaluations
  • Statistical programming experience (STATA, R, SAS)
  • A deep commitment to the mission of both NDISC and the University
  • Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Selfdirected with willingness to take initiative over project tasks and explore potential evaluations

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience working with researchers as a research assistant
  • Knowledge of the NDISC mission
