Finance Department are hiring several positions to serve as the next HR and Finance professionals.

Please see below for specific positions and assignments._ Placement in the appropriate role will depend on qualifications and experience._


Fixed-Term positions are being recruited for to assist City of Santa Maria towards the implementation of the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. These additional positions will support critical functions in the two departments that would allow existing staff to dedicate toward project implementation. Fixed-Term positions will be authorized for a period of two-years, not to exceed June 30, 2026.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Confidential Technician I - biweekly salary $2, $2,643.56
Confidential Technician II - biweekly salary $2, $2,914.5- Placement or assignment at the appropriate level will depend on qualifications and experience_


DUTIES:

These duties are a representative example; position assignments may vary depending on the business needs of the department and organization


This position:

  • Provides general administrative and technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Collects, maintains and produces records and data.
  • Assists with technical and clerical support of Citywide compliance of Federal, State, local laws.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Level I:
  • Ideally, three years of increasingly responsible technical experience that relates to the duties and responsibilities above; and
  • Graduation from high school, and/or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.


  • Level II:
  • Ideally four years of increasingly responsible technical experience that relates to the duties and responsibilities above; and
  • Graduation from high school, and/or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Employees may be considered for a level II advancement after completion of two years in the Confidential Technician I assignment, at the Department Director discretion.
  • Current technical/professional knowledge of complex principles, methods, standards and techniques associated with the scope of work of a recognized profession.

Level I and II:
Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent), and project management principles.
  • Use computer and other office equipment effectively.

Level II:

  • Current local, state, and federal law; City Memoranda of Understanding; Charter; rules and regulations; etc.
