    Summary: Seeking a Laboratory Technician II to work on-site in the RTC - Animal Medicine Department, with a focus on record documentation and animal care.

    Requirements:

    • AA degree or equivalent, plus 1-2 years related experience
    • Experience with animals in a pre-clinical setting, especially pigs, dogs, and sheep
    • Proficient in good documentation practices (GDP) and familiar with GLP studies
    • Ability to work M-F from 7 AM to 4 PM CT, with some holidays and weekends as needed

    Preferred Skills:

    • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) degree is highly preferred
    • Experience in processing clinical pathology samples and coordinating lab projects

    Responsibilities:

    • Adhere to safety and security policies by following regulations and SOPs/WI documents
    • Ensure proper data collection protocols throughout studies
    • Provide preventative and maintenance care for all animal species
    • Support post-operative procedures including recovery, administering medications, using anesthesia machines, obtaining vitals, and monitoring changes
    • Document activities accurately on electronic medical records and communicate effectively with veterinarians
    • Process clinical pathology samples in-house or send to various labs as required
    • Maintain assigned lab areas clean and report any health status issues of animals to veterinarian or study director/sponsor
    • Manage inventory of supplies/equipment in coordination with other staff members
    • Induce/maintain anesthesia for animals on studies; monitor physiologic status; take appropriate action as needed
    • Stay updated on veterinary techniques through research and training; assist in study design/conduct when necessary
    Pay Details: $37.00 to $41.00 per hour
