Forklift Operator/material Handler - Menasha, United States - Valley Express LLC/Capitol Warehousing

Description

• Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including loading docks, trucks, and storage areas.
• Obtains shipping & receiving orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested materials and equipment accordingly
• Applies understanding of load requirements including the schedule ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items
• Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas as needed
• Reports any problems with materials or transportation to Warehouse Manager
• Responsible for the upkeep of the warehouse ensuring that it is neat and orderly to minimize safety risks
• Reports any service needs, mechanical or electrical difficulties to Warehouse Manager
• Review and maintain inventory for accuracy
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager
• Cross training as required

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Must have the ability to read and write in English
• Ability to manage material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Willingness to go through forklift training

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Forklift operation experience preferred

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Must be able to withstand prolonged period of sitting in a forklift
• Must have the ability to get on and off the forklift
• Working conditions include in the warehouse, outside in various weather conditions and driving a forklift.
