GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:


The Charitable Gift Planning Relations and Marketing Coordinator supports the Northern New England Division charitable gift planning program and the collective Development team within the department.

Areas of focus are Charitable Gift Planning, Marketing, and Donor Cultivation.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Charitable Gift Planning Marketing

  • Coordinate and manage various aspects of charitable gift planning and marketing initiatives within NNE Division.
  • Develop strategies to promote planned giving opportunities, cultivate relationships with donors, and ensure the successful implementation of charitable gift planning programs.

Donor Pipeline

  • Track donor responses to marketing appeals, print and digital advertising, and surveys.
  • Triage and respond to donor/prospect inquiries; set followup tasks.
  • Integrate direct mail, major gifts, planned giving, and corporate/grant relations by managing timelines and donor/prospect list.
  • Keep accurate records of all donor/prospect touch points including marketing responses, gifts/pledges, event participation, holiday/birthday, estate planning illustrations.

Database

  • Input and extract donor data; stay abreast of database updates (Salesforce).
  • Monthly review of bequests from estate database (Lotus Notes).
  • Communicate weekly with territorial headquarters (SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).
  • Run illustrations for charitable gift annuities; update weekly enewsletters.

Events

  • In collaboration with Director of Gift Planning manage and curate annual estate planning webinar (tech support, RSVP's, setup, marketing).
  • Working with members of the community relations and development team to implement donor receptions and special events.
  • Assist in the preparation of invitations, programs, RSVPs, name tags, table tents for gift planning events.
  • Coordinate stewardship activities for charitable gift planning donors.
  • Coordinate mailings and marketing efforts to engage donors effectively.

Training

  • Attend ongoing trainings to increase vocabulary and knowledge of charitable gift planning modalities and related tax implications.
  • Attend territorial annual meetings and national conferences as required, usually one each year.
  • Attend Salesforce training and user group calls as appropriate.
  • Attend PG Calc training and seminars as needed.
  • Participates in and maintains compliancy with all Salvation Army trainings to include KeepSAfe and Praesidium, and any others deemed necessary by department head.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.


SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. List any special skills, licenses, certificates, or registrations that are required to perform the essential duties of this job.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a team
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; combination of education and/or experience will be considered
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills (written and verbal) for managing relationships with donors, attorneys, financial advisors, and Salvation Army officers
  • Prior experience with Salesforce (or similar constituent relationship management software)
  • Some experience with Crescendo or PG Calc for use in illustrations and marketing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Windows Platform; Adobe is a plus

Pay:
$ $31.00 per hour
