- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia

- Residents (Independent and Integrated Programs): Graduates of approved United States and Canadian schools of dentistry must have a current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia before the second year of VA residency, or, for integrated programs, meet any licensure, registration or other equivalent requirements established for residents of non-VA hospitals with which the VA facility is affiliated for training purposes

Completion of an approved residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience as a dentist actively involved in treating medically compromised patients

Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting The Staff dentist will provide clinical guidance including patient treatment, four-handed dentistry, infection control, OSHA guidelines, x-rays and oral health education, knowledge and application of HIPPA/security regulations, and incompliance with VHA policy.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to: Dentistry, endodontic, periodontics, space maintainers, oral surgery, Implants, fixed prostheses, and removable prostheses Diagnostic-examination of hard and soft tissue, x-rays, occlusal analysis and oral cancer screenings Developing and implementing treatment plans Restorations of teeth that is viable, using amalgam or composite resin materials Extraction of teeth which are determined a health hazard Emergency care for treatment of acute conditions (i.e.abscesses)
Administration of oral hygiene education in conjunction with the oral hygienist, dental coordinator and dental assistant Performing surgical procedures on the teeth, bone and soft tissues of the oral cavity Additional duties as required Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm (Tuskegee)
Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm (Fort Rucker/Fort Novosel)"
