Group Leader


Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Glendale specializes in the manufacturing of precision magnesium and aluminum sand castings. We have an exciting opportunity for a Targeting Group Leader.

This successful incumbent will report to the Production Supervisor, the Group Leader is a participating member of the operations leadership tea.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Group Leader responsible for supervising a group of employees to develop business processes, manage production operations and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Receives detailed assignments and follows established processes to meet the goals of the unit.
  • Work to ensure that we are continually improving processes and procedures, with technical assistance from tooling, engineering, finance and materials.
  • Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity.
  • Monitor production activity, identifies process problems, troubleshoots cause and develops solutions.
  • Conduct employees' performance reviews and compensation reviews, recommends disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Conduct interviews along with the Supervisor
  • Suggest improvements to improve efficiencies or safety.
  • Deliver or coordinates staff training on onboarding new staff.
  • Ensure all safety policies and processes are followed.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum five years in manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Ability to use height gages, micrometers, calipers, etc., to measure, check and correlate information with specifications.
  • Must be able to deadlift 50lbs with appropriate technique.
  • Must be able to work on feet for 8+ hours/day
  • Must be able/willing to work overtime, including Saturdays, when/if needed.
  • Must be able to speak and comprehend English (bilingual in Spanish preferred)
