- No direct management responsibility: coaches and develops School Counselors, Social Workers primarily with Regional Student Family Services Managers support as needed in collaboration with Directors and other Student Support Services team members.
- Collaborates with National Student Support Services team to develop and implement comprehensive onboarding plans for School Counselor and Social Workers.
- Develops and delivers differentiated professional development to build technical capacity and leadership and management acumen.
- Collaborate with National Student Support Services team by attending RSFM tactical and following up RSFMs regarding execution of next steps or pending tasks.
- Builds the leadership and management capacity of Counselors and Social Workers utilizing the School Leadership Levers (SLLs) to ensure the success of campus lead team.
- Performs in-field observations (check-ins, huddles, walk-throughs, etc.) of Counselors and Social Workers and follows through with feedback debriefs.
- Manages onboarding and professional development of year 1 and mid-year School Counselor and Social Worker hires.
- Collaborates with National Student Support Services team to support regions without Regionals Student & Family Services Managers and co-lead operating mechanisms.
- Manages all forms of communication & follow-up from executed professional development with RSFMs, School Counselors & Social Workers, and other relevant stakeholders through the SSST Newsletter weekly.
- Manages tracking of licensing of RSFMs, School Counselors & Social Workers, including continuing education credits in partnership with the National or Regional HR & Risk Management Teams.
- Ensures all district crisis management materials are up to date with current state requirements and are accessible for national and regional staff.
- Manages interventions that ensure School Counselors & Social Workers meet documentation requirements
- Collaborates with Director of Mental Health & SEL with onboarding & professional development of student interns from local universities.
- Manages self and the National Student Support Services Team to complete tasks aligned to delivering effective professional development for School Counselors & Social Workers.
- Designs and develops high quality professional development training sessions with a strategically planned scope & sequence that are executed with a high level of professionalism and preparation.
- Collects and analyzes survey data to identify areas of growth to enhance subsequent professional development experiences.
- Develops and maintains business partnerships with national teams that lead work impacting the roles supported
- Collaborates with National Student Support Services Team to ensure alignment between campus leadership and regional support
- Conducts in-field observations (with RSFMs if applicable) of School Counselors & Social Workers to ensure that training session objectives are being executed out in the field and translate to gains in management capabilities and goal attainment
- Collaborates with staff to provide peer feedback on professional development design and facilitation.
- Identify areas for improvement in Title 1 compliance structures and practices. Develop and implement plans for continuous improvement based on data, feedback, and best practices.
- Will maintain internal trackers for compliance of stakeholder groups
- Communicate with stakeholders when non-compliant following the escalation matrix
- Verifies completion of tasks and provides feedback to stakeholders
- Identifies trends in misconceptions or content internalization and adjusts content, coaching or communication to increase success
- Education: Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field
- License or Certification: Valid TX School Counselor certification or counseling licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-S, LPC-A, LPC, LMFT-A, LMFT) required
- Experience: 2+ years of full-time people management required; 2+ years of coaching and developing adults required
- Experience with indirect (matrixed) management preferred
- Experience: 6+ years of professional experience required
- Experience with data inferencing and process management
- Understanding and/or personal experience in the K-12 landscape, especially with charters preferred

Assistant Director of Student Support Services Leadership Development

Role Mission:
The Assistant Director of Student Support Services Leadership Development is responsible for training, coaching, and development of School Counselors and Social Workers in ensuring the success of every school in every region. The Assistant Director of Student Support Services Leadership Development has a particular focus in the implementation of training scope and sequences for regional & campus team members, supports large-scale initiatives, management of progress toward goals, and creation of onboarding materials. The Assistant Director of Student Support Services Leadership Development offers additional support by building the capacity of other regional & campus team members through coaching and development. This is a full-time position based in (Texas/Louisiana/Florida/Arkansas/Ohio) with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth). Travel expectations for this position will be approx 20% of the time to visit our states, regions and schools.

This is a full-time hybrid (remote/on-site) position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
Lead the professional development for Regional Student and Family Managers, School Counselors, Student Success Advisors and Social Workers to meet the 85% retention goal

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $74,700 and $87,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
