Summary
Select raw material to be cut. Cut raw materials into precise length, organize and label parts according to instructions. Assemble or produce parts for work in process or finished goods according to instructions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned
- Must obey all safety policies and requirements
- Regular attendance is required, with proper notification for absences, in accordance with the company's Attendance Policy
- Read order to determine correct machine set up
- Adhere to strict tolerance for size and quality per the customer specifications
- Maintain daily production and record
- Watch for and report defective material, keeping within the customer specifications
- Set up machine for cutting and punching operations
- Place completed parts in proper carts with proper identification
- Inspect machines for wear and maintenance related issues. Report any issues to supervisor
- Keep machine shields and guards in proper place
- Report any injury or incident when it occurs

Education and/or Experience
No prior experience or training
Ability to read and write
Language Skills
Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must be able to use and understand tape measure in 1/16" increments
Reasoning Ability
Safety
Employees must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in each production department. Employees are required to follow all safety rules as outlined in the HPI Employee Manual

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move (up to 1/3 of the time) up to 50 pounds. Employee may be required to utilize mobile equipment to move and place materials
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works (2/3 and more of the time) near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Comments
Overtime is required as needed.
Pay:
$ $21.50 per hour
