- This position will primarily work at the Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Ave, Anoka, MN 55303.
- This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements.
- Expected work hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Management of credit cards, credit card machines, and cash receipting relationships, including voids/refunds, and chargebacks.
- Troubleshoot cash receipt issues.
- Ensure operations are in accordance with industry requirements.
- Collaborate with personnel to process cash receipts as it relates to electronic payments.
- Analyze the effects of transactions upon account relationships.
- Ensure the adequacy of the point-of-sale system and credit card platform(s). Consider the need for new or changed controls.
- Assist with receipt of payment records to ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Act as a liaison between Treasury and County departments in resolving support situations.
- Manage P-Cards and related training for authorized holders.
- Requires a bachelor's degree.
- In lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or closely related field.
- 1-2 years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial systems and county organization and operation and ability to apply that knowledge.
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS and NACHA regulations and best practices.
- Ability to analyze, develop and interpret rules, regulations, policies, and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness.
- Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds.
- Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work
- Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs.
- Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed. Travel between work sites may require driving a county vehicle and/or a personal vehicle.

The Anoka County Finance department's mission is Enriching our community by providing quality services and assuring financial integrity. The Finance department has an immediate opening for an Associate Accountant who will perform various accounting duties.
This position is responsible for the ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with governmental standards and internal policies and procedures.
The Associate Accountant performs work under direct supervision.The Associate Accountant will possess beginning to working knowledge of accounting, handles basic issues and problems associated with accounting, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hybrid position.Interviews will take place the week of May 27th, 2024, for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.
