    IRVING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

    TEACHER

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    ABOUT THE JOB AND THE COMPANY: As a teacher at Irving Independent School District, you will play a crucial role in providing students with enriching learning activities to help them reach their full potential in various academic subjects. The primary purpose is to support students in their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth to thrive in today's diverse society.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate for subject/level assigned
  • ESL Supplemental Certification

    • SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in technology use to enhance student learning

    • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

    At least one year of student teaching or approved internship

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    Instructional Strategies:

  • Develop and implement curriculum plans according to educational guidelines
  • Use data to adapt instructional strategies for student needs
  • Collaborate with special education staff for inclusive learning
  • Utilize technology for effective teaching

    • Student Growth and Development:

  • Assist students in improving study habits
  • Monitor student progress through assessments
  • Engage in extracurricular activities and mentorship
  • Act as a positive role model for students

    • Classroom Management and Organization:

  • Create a conducive learning environment
  • Manage student behavior in line with policies
  • Ensure safety of students and classroom resources
  • Assist in selecting instructional materials

    • Communication:

  • Maintain open communication with students and parents
  • Establish professional relationships with all stakeholders
  • Present information clearly and accurately

    • Professional Growth and Development:

  • Demonstrate expertise in content area and teaching strategies
  • Engage in professional development opportunities
  • Show interest in continuous improvement

    • Policy Implementation:

  • Adhere to state, district, and school regulations
  • Keep records and reports up to date
  • Participate in meetings and committees
  • Uphold professional ethics
