- Obtaining and reviewing evidence, reports, and medical records
- Taking statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and claimant's attorneys
- Research state laws and medical terms
- This position requires daily contact with claimants and/or their attorneys, as well as routine contact with insureds and agents
- Customer facing service experience (in-person or phone) is preferred, but not required
- Previous experience adjusting liability claims is preferred, but not required
- High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Must successfully pass Adjuster licensing exam upon hire (then obtain & maintain any other adjuster licenses as required.) * Company covers the cost of the exam, study materials, and provides a week for self-study to prepare for the exam
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize

OverviewBerkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is hiring Entry Level Claims Adjuster. In this position you will learn how to conduct office investigations and adjust insurance claims for General Liability products. If you have previous customer service experience and at minimum a high school diploma, then we will train you to become a claims adjuster We are looking to fill this position in Wilkes-Barre, PA or Parsippany, NJ.
