We are seeking a Product Engineering Tech to add to our staff

General Manager


PURPOSE AND SCOPE:


The Product Engineering Tech will be responsible for assisting in the quotation process and New Product Introduction process, new product production launch, and aid in establishing quality/customer requirements based on customer needs.

The position requires the skill to gain an understanding of customer requests, assist with documentation development, participate in process reviews, and other functions key to the launch and quality of new programs.

The NPI Technician will work collaboratively with engineering, quality, customer service, and production to ensure the accuracy of processes, documentation, and all quality requirements as required.


Primary Responsibilities Include:


  • Review customer drawings for the understanding of specified requirements. Identify any manufacturability concerns based on customer requirements and communicate to the Engineering team.
  • Research required component specifications to ensure a fully manufacturable process, including safety, ergonomics, tooling, torque, or any other requirement for production implementation.
  • Develop customer quotes
  • Develop required production documentation and fixturing to ensure efficient, quality production processing. These will include detailed Operating Instructions, Wire/Cable processing Sheets, Test/Layout Fixtures, Wire processing fixtures, and Check sheets.
  • Assist in the evaluation of processing of new project releases through Pilot and production implementation.
  • Participate in the production Hand-Off meeting

Responsibilities may also include:


  • Collaborate with engineering/quality to maintain proper documentation/fixture control procedures
  • Assist with prototype/engineering builds of programs based on preliminary documentation.
  • Aid in the development of PPAP requirements based on specified customer requirements, i.e. Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow, part layouts, etc.
  • Assist with the maintenance of quality system requirements, as needed.
  • Coordinate with quality/purchasing in researching environmental compliance requirements (ROHS/REACH).
  • Review Pilot completion and ensure necessary improvements/actions are taken to update the product BOM/routing to ensure efficiency/quality and of the assembly and process.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with wire harness industry production and quality standards/workmanship guidelines. (WHMA/IPC 620)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write detailed, legible information for work performed.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, and PLEX. (Tech must be able to use Excel for spreadsheet and charting)

Pay:
$49, $58,000.00 per year
