Position Overview:

Our Director of People is focused on empathy, inclusion, and aligning employee's needs with the company vision. We understand that our business thrives when our people thrive.

As Director of People, you will be responsible for the day-to-day human resources functions to ensure Workshop Digital continues to stand out as a great place to work.

This position reports directly to the CEO.


About You:


  • 2+ years of experience in a Director of HR/Director of People role and 6+ years of total Human Resources experience
  • Experience in providing HR support for remote teams
  • Experience in a services business where people are at the core of the business
  • Entrepreneurial drive, problemsolving mindset, and a desire for continuous learning
  • Display an ability to improve, manage, and deliver change initiatives (succession planning, career development, knowledge sharing)
  • Have a proven ability to improve processes and performance
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Excited by the idea of being both a thought leader who anticipates future people trends and can execute strategies and plans accordingly
  • Possess a strong leadership presence with exceptional people management & coaching ability
  • Passionate about building and supporting a diverse workforce and fostering an inclusive culture
  • Skilled business leader that is able to draw clear connections between people efforts and business goals
  • Strong understanding of benefits administration, payroll, and other HR operational functions. Experience with ADP, BambooHR, and/or Lattice is a plus.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Able to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and on multiple projects
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR strongly preferred

What You'll Do:


  • Act as an advisor to the CEO and leadership team to ensure that our people, and their ongoing development, are priorities that are clearly articulated across the company
  • Oversee, manage, and enforce all HR policies and processes from onboarding to offboarding
  • Provide leadership and guidance on all people operations through reports and analytics
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, including culture and retention in a hybrid/remote environment
  • Contribute to a people strategy that helps the business achieve its objectives and establishes the business as a 'best place to work' in the market
  • Ensure the full employee lifecycle is best in class, from Learning and Development to performance reviews, progression, and everything in between
  • Build an industryleading approach to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
  • Oversee the organization's compliance with all legislation pertaining to personnel matters. Maintain knowledge of industry trends, employment legislation, and costefficient solutions
  • Regularly identify gaps where processes should be updated or formalized, maintain and improve key systems, tools and technology
  • Create policies that provide guidance to employees at all levels in the areas of career development, organizational management and leadership, and employee relations issues
  • Assist in the development of guidelines around compensation management to ensure the company is fair in matters related to pay
  • Facilitate training and development programs that ensure our managers are equipped to lead their teams in a manner consistent with our values
  • Inform our talent acquisition methods, enabling us to work with the right partners in the sourcing & hiring of top talent
  • Oversee the performance evaluation process across the company
  • Manage a small team of two currently (Office Administration and Recruiting function), with plans to build in the future
