    What you'll do

    The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care will work Full-time, Days , with responsibility for Infusion administration in an Infusion Room. On a daily basis, the RN II will administer a variety of medication Infusions for specialties such as GI, Neurology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Pulmonary, and more. They will coordinate patient care and needs with their practitioner, and work closely with patients to develop an administration plan and Infusion schedule.

    The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care will be accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patients needs. The RN contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork. The RN I status and job description is only appropriate for a new nurse in the first year of practice, as support from others in incorporated into this role as an expectation. Therefore, all RN I's are expected to complete the requirements of the Nurse Residency program and complete the application and credentialing process for successful advancement to RN II by 12-15 months after hire. RNS II through IV are accountable to assure that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state, federal law. RNs II and IV serves as a resource for other staff and clinicians as required.

  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care provides nursing care and services to patients throughout the life span and in various settings consistent with educational preparation.
  • Collects, analyzes and records relevant patient health data accurately, with no more than 3-5 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation and co-worker feedback.
  • Analyzes assessment data to identify patient problems, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation.
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation.
  • Develops a plan of care that describes interventions to attain expected outcomes, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation.
  • Implements and records interventions appropriate to diagnosis or patient problem, with no more than 3-5 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation.
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care evaluates the patient's progress toward attainment of identified goals, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation.
  • Adheres to approved, research-based practice standards, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by direct supervisory observation and random supervisory chart review.
  • Directs and supervises patient care provided by LPNs and support personnel 100% of the time according to department guidelines, as measured by co-worker feedback and managerial observation.
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care demonstrates consideration of safety, effective utilization of equipment and materials, and cost in managing patient care, as measured by direct supervisory observation and co-worker feedback.
  • Acts effectively as charge nurse, group leader or preceptor when assigned, as determined by co-worker or preceptee feedback and direct managerial observation.
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care writes a progress note that demonstrates an understanding of the patient's status and progress towards achievement of goals (80-90%).
  • Ability to function in charge nurse or leadership capacity as determined by practice arena.
  • Advocates for patients to ensure that care preserves and protects the patient's autonomy, dignity and rights.
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity, 100% of the time, as measured by no significant, substantiated patient or peer complaints received by the manager/supervisor.
  • Assures that patients have informed consent signed for indicated procedures, 100% of the time, as measured by random supervisory chart review.
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care acts on behalf of patients in an ethical manner 100% of the time, as measured by co-worker and patient feedback and managerial observation.
  • Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses.
  • Acquires and maintains current knowledge and skills in his or her area of practice.
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care provides proof of current licensure validation to supervisor. (To achieve excellence, one must do this in a proactive, timely manner prior to due date).
  • Completes required unit credentialing according to departmental policy by providing documented evidence of completion to supervisor.
  • Provides to supervisor evidence of completion of all required training and competency validation. (To achieve excellence, one must take personal responsibility for this task and complete by the due date).
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care participates in level appropriate number of hours of educational activity, according to pathway, related to job function annually and provides documented evidence of attendance or activity to supervisor.
  • Demonstrates clinical problem-solving ability through written exemplar, patient/family feedback, co-worker report or direct managerial observation.
  • Participates in quality improvement processes for the department and institution as assigned and as measured by supervisory observation.
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care participates in nursing research.
  • Commits to an attitude of inquiry, research based practice, and the advancement of nursing science as observed by managerial observation.
  • Helps to identify clinical problems requiring investigation as measured by co-worker feedback and managerial observation.
  • The Registered Nurse II, Acute Care assists in the collection of data within a structured format as measured by co-worker feedback and managerial observation.
  • Partners with senior nurses to use research findings in clinical practice as measured by co-worker feedback and managerial observation.
  • Performs other duties as requested and observed by supervisor or manager.
  • What we need from you

    Education:

  • 2 Year Associate degree in Nursing, required.
  • Vocational/Technical Diploma from a Professional Nursing Program, required.
  • 4 Year Bachelors degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • All RN's hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor's prepared nursing
    program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be obtained within 10 years.

    Experience:

  • At least 1year experience as an RN, if experience is not relevant, RN II must complete RN residency program, required.
  • License/ Certification:

  • Current NYS license as a RN, required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.

    This position is eligible for a sign on bonus up to:

    USD $35,000.00
    Pay Range

    Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

    Pay Range Minimum

    USD $38.24/Hr.
    Pay Range Maximum

    USD $57.36/Hr.
