Job Summary and Mission:

Plans and manages the overall production activities of a plant. Responsible for production schedules and performance standards for measuring progress.

Monitors daily operations to identify and resolve problem areas relating to staffing, scheduling, tooling, safety, quality, and production line arrangement.

May direct maintenance of facility and equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Directs projects, processes, functional and business objectives with a broad scope and impact.
Provide strategic input to facilitate achievement of business results.
Manage a functional or operational area that directly supports the execution of tactical objectives.
Assess external developments and develop risk mitigation strategies in the area of responsibility.

Key Position Accountabilities:

Provide strategic input to facilitate achievement of business results.
Lead the Safety Leadership Committee and develop the site Safety Flight Plan and monitor progress and clear any organizational barriers that may prevent achieving goal of 100% Safe. Establish and enforce safety environment with clear roles and responsibilities, and regularly monitor performance using Safety Reviews.
Manages plant KPI's.
Responsible for plant financial performance.
Responsible to assure customer satisfaction needs are meet lead time, ontime delivery, quality of product.
Responsible to assure proper manpower levels are in place to support demand.
Responsible for reducing costs through lean and 6 Sigma programs.

Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations.

Financial/Business Accountability:

Strong acumen of financials.
Typically accountable for the performance of: Products and/or discipline within a small business unit or staff function.

Strategy:

Translates and communicates overall Company strategy and connection to strategy in area of accountability.
Primary responsibility for carrying out all, or portions of, the execution plan relating to specific area of accountability.
Identifies emerging issues relevant to area of accountability and adjusts execution plan to address issues.
Develops the tactical plan for the area of accountability as a reference point to execute strategy.

Leveraging Resources:

Determines how resources are allocated within area of accountability.
Ability to collaborate with crossfunctioning work groups.
Accountable for development and adherence to a plant budget.
On a daytoday basis, leverages resources within area of accountability to execute plan.

Influence:

May build and maintain relationships with constituents outside Company to support business needs.
Interacts with other departments to coordinate activities.

Decision Making:

Has responsibility for making decisions and managing risks that could have significant but shortterm impact on the assets of the Company
Makes decisions using detailed analysis, integration, and constructive thinking.

Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

4year secondary degree, plus advanced degree preferred.
810 years management experience
35 years plant manager or operations manager experience
Strong LEAN Manufacturing/Continuous improvement background
