Manufacturing - Work Cell Assembler - Small Lights - University Park, United States - Federal Signal Corporation
Description
Performs duties to identify, order, store and assemble a wide variety of Electrical/Electro- Mechanical/Mechanical components and assemblies. Performs simple wire and soldering operations using current manufacturing processes. Must be able to perform Go/No Go tests on small lights, controls and various other subassemblies/finished models. 2nd shift 3:30pm12:00am.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works from blueprints, schedules, shop orders, specification sheets, process instructions and test
- Reviews production schedules for specific periods and arranges for parts, materials, supplies, tooling, gauges and other equipment to meet production
- Requisitions and stores
- Passes Kan Ban cards to producing departments per defined
- Accumulates and moves items between storage areas and work
- Fills out and submits requisitions, move tickets, finished goods tickets and scrap tickets.
- Selects, verifies and identifies quantity of materials. Records and/or calls attention to shortages, possible rejected or damaged
- Sets up work cell
- Makes necessary adjustments of tools, gauges and equipment. Makes operational checks as required. Monitors work visually to maintain quality standards and notifies supervisor of nonconformance and/or operating
- Performs preventative maintenance (cleaning, oiling, inspecting and minor adjustments) on equipment in the work
- Trains new and existing employees how to effectively work within the department, instructs them in all facets of the work cell
- Follows safety rules and keeps work cell area in a clean and orderly
- Uses computer to check the status of a customer's order and the status of a shop
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School diploma
- Experience with light mechanical and/or electrical assembly
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, fixed gauges, jigs, meters, soldering irons, riveters, presses and crimping tools
- Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and sound judgement
