Job Description Maintenance Technician I (Apprentice) -Day Shift**
Shift Hours: 6:00AM - 4:30PM

Weekend shifts are required for shutdown maintenance.

Hourly Pay Rate:
$ $21.00 DOE

Provide maintenance support and repairs to production machinery and facility for a 24 hr. / 7-day manufacturing operation. Additionally, performs the duties of Facilities Support as required.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production Support: Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests on the production floor. Train production technicians in the proper setup and copy troubleshooting techniques. Provide training and assistance to production technicians as needed to help maximize production output and minimize downtime through the utilization of proper production techniques and handling practices. 30%
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Effectively diagnose mechanical and basic electrical problems in assigned area (facility, machinery, equipment, etc.) Make timely and accurate repairs, as necessary, during production Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment. 30%
  • Preventative Maintenance: Inspect machinery for potential problems on a daily basis. Documents problems and schedules work/repairs as appropriate. Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner. Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan. These activities will be recorded using proper PM sheets. 30%
  • Housekeeping/Other: Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff including work area cleanup, machine, and equipment cleanup, sweeping up after cleanup and various other general housekeeping duties as assigned. 5%

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • 1 Year related mechanical experience

Additional Certification

  • Powered Industrial Truck Certification

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to organize work, people, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
  • Ability to retain knowledge of procedures and processes and understand complex instructions and multistep procedures.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language preferred.
  • Ability to work a schedule with callin and overtime duties
  • Ability to work independently on nights and weekend shifts.
  • Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.
  • Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints.
  • Intermediate written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills. Plans and organizes daily work flow.
  • Proficient in performing production equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Serviceoriented personality.
  • Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills.

Equipment/Software Utilized

  • Basic Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook, and internet software.
