Position Summary


The Quality Managers role is to implement, monitor, and lead all aspects of the quality management system (AS9100D), consistent with established engineering standards, and designed to achieve customer satisfaction goals.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality manual, SOP's, inspection documentation, and a solid quality culture.
  • Maintain the quality management system, lead management review meetings, audit the quality manual in compliance with AS/ISO/EN requirements and in partnership with external auditors
  • Supervise and ensure that all quality procedures are properly understood, carried out, evaluated and that all documents are maintained.
  • Build the tools and the training required for onthefloor quality control during all hours of operation
  • Develop, evaluate, improve and maintain existing SQA, QA programs, including but not limited to customer satisfaction, inspection, finished product specification, visual product standards, crisis management and vendor certification.
  • Investigates, addresses and resolves internal and external customer complaints regarding quality. Communicates with the responsible department manager(s), supply chain and customer service, and customers to identify root causes, followed by irreversible corrective actions.
  • Confer regularly with production to plan, coordinate and evaluate goals and objectives, investigate and resolve problems, exchange information, maintain approved supplier lists, etc.
  • Supervises and trains receiving, inprocess, final inspection and testing activities. Is Responsible for maintaining all test records. Responsible for the calibration of all measuring and test equipment including record maintenance.
  • Develop additional inspection and testing procedures as needed to ensure the quality of our products

Physical Requirements

  • Requires standing continuously and walking and sitting occasionally throughout the day.

Experience and Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality or Management is preferred; Continuing education in pursuit of ASQC certification plus AS9100 experience will be considered
  • More than 7 years' experience in a quality assurance role including leadership experience. DoD contract experience preferred.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing professional preferred
  • Proven leadership capability with proven team development and accountability
  • Demonstrates structured problemsolving skills to include analytical and data based decision making skills, statistical analysis and proficiency with statistical software
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools, such as 8D, A3, FMEA, 5 whys, etc.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Well organized with a focused attention on detail

Technical Skills

  • Advanced skill with GD&T, required to collaborate with Engineering on complex machined geometries.
  • Technical knowledge in the areas of metal treating processes, ex. heat treat, anodize, black oxide, etc.
  • Advanced skill with all MS Office products
  • Ability to use hand and automated measuring equipment
  • Ability to use statistical software

Pay:
$80, $100,000.00 per year
