    Beverly's Community Health Worker

    We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate Community Health Worker to join our programming team at Beverly's. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of social determinants of health and be able to connect families with appropriate resources and services. Our organization's work is centered around celebrating and strengthening families. We offer community-based programs, events, and product support services that provide direct support for families and aid in resource navigation.

    This role will report directly to our Sr. Director of Programming.

    Location: This is an in-person role at our office headquarters: 11065 Parker Drive North Huntingdon, PA Standard hours are Monday-Friday (8:30-4:30). Candidate will work at least one evening community event per week (additional compensation) and support occasional weekend community events.

    Compensation: $36,000-$40,000 (depending on experience)

    Benefits: A monthly healthcare stipend, 403b retirement package, life insurance, short-term disability, and a PTO package

    Education: Applicants require an HS diploma or GED and a preferred 1-2 years of experience in community health/organizing or social service field. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred, but we welcome a combination of relevant education and experience. Candidates with job-related education/certifications will be given preference. Experience with home visiting, health care, casemanagement, and/or populations experiencing health disparities is highly desired.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 1-2 years of experience working in a community health or social services setting
    • Knowledge of community resources and services related to Social Determinants of Health, with a focus on underserved populations
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations, with a focus on cultural humility and sensitivity
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required (candidate will drive Beverly's vehicles when appropriate)
    • Obtain all required clearances (PA State Police, FBI Fingerprinting, Child Abuse)
    • High energy level, strong sense of initiative, enthusiasm, diplomacy, professionalism, transparency, accountability, flexibility, and discretion.
    • A commitment and passion for the organization's mission
    • An ability to authentically represent the brand and a genuine desire to help celebrate and strengthen families in Southwestern PA.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs., sort, stoop, and stand for durations of time

    Position Overview

    This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Programming and works across all programming divisions within the organization (Birthdays, Babies, and Basic Care).

    Support the organization's community-focused programming events and resource navigation needs.

    • Attend Beverly's Babies Free Community Baby Showers and support The Triangle of Care Initiative
    • Attend a minimum of one Beverly's group birthday (evening) celebration per week and serve as lead celebration facilitator and resource connector
    • Attend all daytime Beverly's group celebrations and serve as lead celebration facilitator and resource connector

    Work directly with the Sr. Director of Programming and Beverly's Babies Program Manager to launch the state's first mobile formula bank.

    • Assist with the coordination of all mobile sites
    • Coordinate any agency partner collaboration for mobile sites
    • Attend all mobile events and assist with families with formula and any additional resource needs (when appropriate)

    Work directly with the Sr. Director of Programming and Beverly's Birthday and Program Manager to launch Wellness Wednesdays, in-person programming, and resource events at Beverly's Headquarters.

    • Coordinate partner educational resources
    • Manage event scheduling, promotion, and client needs leading up to and the day of the event

    Attend community, educational, and programming events on behalf of the organization.

    Serve as the organization's community resource navigator and share information on upcoming events/resources/services with the entire team.

    Serve as the lead contact for the FindHelp SDoH partnership with AHN

    Assist the team with any inventory, programming orders, and product needs.

    Responsibilities are not limited to those listed in this document.This position does require physical labor as it may involve lifting and sorting products/supplies.
