- Provides counsel and recommendations to section product line management on both tactical execution and longer term strategic initiatives. Tactical execution includes meeting section level performance metrics including business financial commitments. Strategic initiatives include product line long range forecasting and strategic workforce planning.
- Responsible for defining and driving section key performance indices (KPIs) including appropriate action plans to close on performance metrics.
- Responsible for developing and managing cross functional, technology led, or product focused programs. Manages budgets and interfaces with contractors, suppliers, customers and internal functions. Manages program resource and budget allocation/integration. Manages schedule, budget, and tollgate process for NPI, requisition, or sustaining programs. Influences the programs to meet customer CTQs.
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or STEM field from an accredited college or university

- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated clear thinking with concise, action oriented communications with senior leadership.

Job Description SummaryThe F414/F404 Operations Leader will drive top level product line tactical and strategic initiatives. In this role, the operations leader has purview over the product line's top level metrics for programs that span a diverse set of customers and airframers. Responsibilities include managing the overall portfolio of both Sustaining and NPI engineering programs. Sustaining programs include production delivery, services, and the flying fleet of US Navy and international operators. NPI programs include the F414-400K for the KF-21; the F for the USAF Advance Pilot Trainer, the F for the Hurjet, and the F for the NASA X-59 demonstrator.
The operations leader will be the prime focal to align engineering metrics and deliverables with business financial deliverables. The role requires high levels of operational judgment to impact the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team; having a lean mindset and being process focused are essential enablers for the role.
