- Assist Social Services Assistant(s) or higher graded employees in providing on-site supervision of students to ensure a safe and healthy atmosphere.
- Set a positive example as a role model by displaying appropriate etiquette, timeliness, and dress to students.
- Maintain order and discipline among students, observe, and report social, behavioral, or disciplinary problems to supervisors, and ensure student compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Assign individual duties by establishing student work rosters on a rotating basis and ensuring adherence to assigned tasks.
- Provide leadership and direction to students in performing daily housekeeping duties, work details, physical training, recreation, hygiene, etc.
- General knowledge of the basic rules, regulations, and practices of the Center program to properly assist in carrying out student activities.
- Skill in effective communication with students to answer questions, provide information, inspections, and counsel.
- Skill in maintaining order and identifying social, behavioral, or disciplinary problems to promote harmony among students and seek assistance for complex issues.
- Basic knowledge of Job Corps related databases and software to perform work assignments.

Responsibilities:
- The role of the Social Services Assistant (SSA) is to assist students, peers, and subordinates in understanding the relevance of positive social skills and promoting the development of such skills among students through modeling appropriate behavior and teaching employability skills for workplace success.
- Participate in the Center Behavioral Management System (Client) and/or the Student Code of Conduct (SCC).
