Description:

The department of Surgery would like to hire a Marketing Associate.

With the advent of the pandemic and reduced in-person engagement, the Marketing Associate will be tasked with developing solutions for communicating departments' programs and events with students and the campus community in a virtual world.

The increase in virtual programming and a significant need for a more robust digital presence has required our marketing and communication efforts to develop transformative effective digital campaigns (including an expansive digital display, social media, and web presence) to support our students in their journey to developing and achieving their full potential on campus and beyond.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Assist with development and implementation of marketing plans for university departments; assists with determining most effective methods for marketing and communications activities for departments; and interfaces with members of university media and mediarelated departments.
  • Develops and maintains social media presence on social networking sites; writes, edits, and manages all social mediarelated content for consistency across all platforms. Reviews preexisting social media posts, refine the study's branding, and create optimized ad campaigns. Analyzes and reports on social media activity and makes recommendations. Assists with managing student staff projects.
  • Assists with periodic marketing research; assists in the development, implementation and tracking of marketing and communications strategies and branding initiatives. Tracks and implements online marketing trends. Collects and reports on various marketing data to reveal insights and impact of efforts. Researches social media trends and hashtags that relate to our target audience's interests. Monitors analytics and metrics to gauge success of social media posts and ad campaigns
  • Responsible for continued knowledge gathering on marketing, digital and social media, and related industries, as well as project management and direct customer interface support.
  • Lead and manage marketing projects, primarily building capacity within existing study team members to execute marketing projects
  • Create a social media content calendar for various channels, planning and scheduling posts in advance
  • Build capacity within study team to maintain social media calendar
  • Maintain a cohesive social media strategy across various channels to achieve high levels of user engagement
  • Create, manage, and publish original and highquality content across various social media platforms
  • Analyze data and metrics to create campaign reports on web traffic, user engagement, and ROI
  • Manage all company social media accounts to ensure relevant, uptodate content
  • Collaborate with study leadership to identify marketing priorities
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
