***: We are looking for qualified individuals who have the experience and qualifications to act in the capacity of a Site Superintendent and/or a combination role of Quality Control Manager and/or Site Health and Safety Officer with the Site Superintendent role. This role provides daily onsite oversight and direct day-to-day management and supervision of construction activities, subcontractors, quality, and safety. The individual must ensure projects are completed under contract documents, performance period, and within budget.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

In-depth understanding of various construction projects with an emphasis on facility sustainment, renovation, and modernization (SRM) type projects.

Minimum of 7 years of experience managing construction projects and 3 years of recent experience acting in a similar capacity.


KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING:


  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction means and methods
  • Indepth knowledge and ability to read prints, plans, schedules, inspection
  • Expense working on projects for federal agencies is required
  • Strong familiarity and implementation of USACE EM and OSHA 1910/192
  • Understanding of USACE Construction Quality Management processes and procedures
  • Required Certifications: USACE CQM and OSHA 30
  • Preferred Certifications: PMP, DBIA, CCM, AIC, Procore

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Estimating: Provide pre-bid project analysis, identify project planning concerns, identify solutions for site utilization concerns, and provide outsourcing for subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, etc.

  • Project Initiation and Planning: Project planning for sequencing, addressing potential issues, schedule development, developing scopes of work for subcontracts, and material procurement planning.

Project Execution: Manage subcontractors/consultants, material tracking, site utilization, coordination, schedule implementation, develop look ahead schedules, conduct required meetings, contract deliverables, inspections, daily field reports, project communication, project reporting, client interactions, recognition of project scope and potential differing conditions.

Quality Control: Implementing quality control requirements, procedures, and documentation utilizing the USACE 3-phases of Construction. Recognize and stop non-conforming work with the project requirements and ensure corrective measures are taken on time.

Project Safety: Adherence to and implementation of Aleut's safety standards and project-specific safety requirements. Ensure that required reports and documents are completed. Any work being performed in an unsafe manner must be stopped immediately, and all incidents must be reported.

Project Completion and Closeout: Ensure that contract requirements for project inspections, acceptance, commissioning, record documents, training, etc. are completed.

  • Other responsibilities to include but not limited to:
  • Take proactive steps and actions to minimize project risks.
  • Manage and supervise assigned staff.
  • Provide interim and annual reviews of assigned staff.
  • Manage and execute single or multiple projects in different phases of construction.
  • Work with other departments within the company and business units as required.
  • Perform duties, responsibilities, and assigned tasks with mínimal direction or oversight.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MENTAL AND COGNITIVE DEMANDS:


  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly on a professional and technical level.
  • Must be able to document issues and resulting resolutions.
  • Must be able to solve complex problems.
  • Must possess basic computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets, scheduling, etc.
Ability to interpret and understand various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:


  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment background check.
  • Ability to pass preemployment and random drug screens.
  • Ability to pass the required background check for the project.
  • Must be available for standby assignments/scheduled offhours/emergency work as required.
  • Must be able to travel as required for projects and company requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Ability to verbally communicate with, hear, and understand others.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, wrists, and arms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The working conditions vary for each project and location and may include the following:

  • It is primarily anticipated that this position will be in the field on construction sites that may be indoors or outdoors.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to heavy
