Description

Reporting to the Museum & Theater Technical Director, the Technical Supervisor, Video is responsible for the technical preparation, production, and documentation of all AV Services and Live Events including lectures, performances, and screenings.

Collaborating and communicating with internal and external content creators across all departments, the Technical Supervisor, Video produces all AV services, including vendor management and the scheduling of Part Time AV staff support as needed.

Specializing in the field of Video Engineering, the Technical Supervisor, Video manages video solutions and upgrades to the Museum's technology infrastructure, and performs regular technical maintenance to ensure safe working procedures by addressing and escalating any safety issues as they arise.

The Technical Supervisor, Video will help to ensure that all AV services are delivered in a manner consistent with Museum policies, strategic goals and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years Professional experience working with studio, theatrical, lighting and outdoor presentation equipment (required)
  • Extensive experience in field of audio and video and projection and recording services and equipment operation and maintenance. Basic IT support and network knowledge. (required)
  • Experience advancing technical theatrical performance logistics, including all of the following: technical staging needs, hospitality and logistics. (required)
  • Technical skills to operate and train on AV equipment (excluding film projection equipment). (required)
  • Experience with audio system testing, setup, and live and recorded amplification. (required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills work effectively with a wide range of departments and outside vendors and consultants. (required)
  • Adaptable to dynamic and technicallydemanding work environment. (required)
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and communication (written and verbal) skill; Highly detailed oriented (required)
  • Working knowledge of applicable guidelines, and standards for safe operation of technical equipment. (required)
  • Experience working cooperatively with widely varied professional, semiprofessional and community arts groups regarding technical requirements ofstaging performances. (required)
  • Experience performing Video Engineering work for a live event with video, music or theater production and archive. (required)
  • Time management skills to manage, track, and work on multiple complex tasks (required)
  • Knowledge of acceptable budget practices; experience contributing to budget preparation and reconciling expenses. (preferred)
  • Audio and Video podcast experience. (preferred)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training (required)
  • Active ETCP rigging and lighting certification. (preferred)
