    Description

    We are seeking a Program Manager at the SAIS Rethinking Iran plays a pivotal role in supporting the initiative's mission to foster dialogue, research, and understanding about Iran's political, social, and cultural landscape. This position encompasses strategic planning, operational management, grant development, and relationship building to ensure the smooth functioning and growth of the initiative.


    Specific Duties & Responsibilities


    Strategic Planning & Execution (30%)
    • Collaborate closely with Co-directors to develop and implement the initiative's strategic plan, aligning it with the mission, vision, and values of Rethinking Iran.
    • Monitor and evaluate progress towards strategic goals with quarterly reports, providing insights for decision-making and strategic direction.
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of operational plans to achieve the initiative's objectives.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, supporting decision-making, priority setting, resource allocation, and staff hires.
    • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for executive meetings.
    • Represent the initiative in meetings, conferences, and relevant events.

    Operations Management (30%)
    • Streamline internal processes and enhance operational efficiency, building a strong foundation for Rethinking Iran.
    • Coordinate and manage cross-functional projects and initiatives, ensuring successful execution within defined timelines and budgets.
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration among staff, contractors, and researchers, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing.
    • Establish supportive team structures, such as a streamlined onboarding process, team regular meetings, job reviews, and retreats to foster engagement and growth.
    • Create a culture of safety, creativity, and belonging among staff, contractors, and researchers.
    • Oversee the digital marketing team, providing guidance and support as needed.
    • Oversee the logistic team to ensure smooth coordination of events, conferences, festivals, and workshops.
    • Ensure full compliance with copyright regulations for all publication materials, safeguarding intellectual property rights and maintaining legal and ethical standards.

    Grants Development (20%)
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive grant strategy to secure financial resources for Rethinking Iran.
    • Build a pipeline of potential foundations, sponsors, and strategic partners.
    • Prepare grant applications.
    • Conduct research to identify new grant opportunities and stay updated on relevant grant trends.

    Relationship Building, Partnership Development, and Outreach (20%)

    • Develop and implement an outreach strategy to expand Rethinking Iran's reach and visibility with policymakers, academics, activists, artists, and at SAIS.
    • Identify and engage with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, academic institutions, NGOs, academic associations, museums, and community organizations.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key influencers, thought leaders, and media outlets.
    • Plan and participate in outreach activities, such as conferences, festivals, workshops, and community events.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling visual materials, including educational graphics, newsletters, social media content, and press releases.
    • Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities to advance the organization's mission and objectives.


    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree.
    • Five years related experience.
    • Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

    Starting Salary Range: Min $64,000 0 Max $112,200 Annually ($80,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

    JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
