of Boston and Lynn is hiring**We have an _immediate_ need for a part-time, non-exempt
Career Readiness Specialist.

As a member of the Middle School and Teens department, the
Career Readiness Specialist develops and implements comprehensive career preparation programming for girls entering Grades 9-12.

The rate for this position is
$20.38 per hour for 20.0 hours per week. As a part-time role, the
Career Readiness Specialist will be eligible for some of the paid time off benefits.


POSITION OVERVIEW (What we're looking for)

Reporting to the Project Accelerate Supervisor, the
Career Readiness Specialist is based at the Lynn office.

This role will provide onsite support to fulfill diverse duties, including facilitating workshops, career panels, field trips, job shadows, and internships.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES (What you'll be achieving)
At a minimum, the
Career Readiness Specialist will be responsible for successfully carrying out the following essential functions and duties:

  • Plan and deliver weekly career preparation workshop sessions to high schoolers in Grades 9-1
  • Recruit, interview, and orient girls for programming through schools, partner organizations, and social media.
  • Recruit and support career panelist volunteers and guest workshop presenters.
  • Identify host sites for job shadows and externships.
  • Establish annual program calendars and schedules.
  • Evaluate and track program outcomes and outputs and report on the following:
  • number of girls served;
- activities/events provided;
- change in the girls' knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to their future outlook; and
- career awareness & job readiness skills.

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with area agencies, businesses, schools, and corporate partners.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to provide a safe, secure, progirl environment.
  • Complete all program reports as requested.
  • Support specialist events.
  • Prepare and serve snacks.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (What you'll bring along)

Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. College students are encouraged to apply, as the educational requirement may be substituted with four years of relevant experience.


Experience:
Minimum of two years of related experience working with adolescents is strongly desired.

  • Experience in program development, program planning, group facilitation, volunteer coordination, partnership building within the community, etc.
  • Working knowledge of developing relevant, engaging programming for girls in Grades 91
  • Highly developed skills in planning, organizing, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work equitably with adults and youth from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and lived experiences.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prepare and complete program reports.
  • Familiarity with working with volunteers and other community partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively as a team player across the organization.
  • Capacity to work independently, take initiative, and execute tasks with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive, preemployment background check process.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.
