Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop a financial aid optimization plan for SOE.
- Direct planning efforts in collaboration with SOE Enrollment Management and Finance to develop and administrate institutional aid optimization modeling for degree program students to meet strategic enrollment goals.
- Develop and update financial aid policies in alignment with regulatory changes and institutional needs.
- Review data for accuracy and consistency, generate reports and analysis for senior leadership for strategic decisionmaking, and resolve student issues.
- Monitor SOE Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards and coordinate appeals and academic plans with SEAM.
- Work with SEAM Financial Aid Compliance to prepare and publish annual Cost of Attendance budgets.
- Provide and reconcile reports on financial aid state scholarship programs and financial assistance accounting operations budget.
- Process and coordinate with the SOE Finance Office, Programs, and Development to manage the Departmental Graduate Aid (DGA) program.
- Process, manage, and update AmeriCorps awards for Teach for America/TNTP (TFA) degree program students.
- Review and recommend case resolutions to SEAM SAO's divisional collections reports and participates in SOE's General Petition Review Committee for refund requests.
- Oversee the administration of the Community Service Federal Work-Study program, including monitoring expenditures, development and maintenance of budgets and databases.
- Maintain electronic databases and use federal, state, and university computer software and data interfaces.
- Assist with processes between the SEAM Financial Aid & Student Accounts, the SOE Development Office, and the SOE Finance Office in the account balance reporting, program operation, awarding, and disbursing of grants and all institutional scholarship programs.
- Participate in occasional outreach events on and off campus.
- Required to participate in all assigned events based on the needs of the office.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated ability to synthesize and analyze complex data for use by nonfinancial aid experts.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated history of respecting confidentiality and employing discretion in all facets of work.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including learners, management, leadership, and internal and external clients.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Five years related experience, with prior supervisory experience required.
- Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of related experience in a higher education financial aid office, including leadership, supervisory, and systems responsibilities.
- Experience processing federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid.
- Working knowledge of Homeland Security, Citizenship, Selective Service, Social Security Administration, and NSLDS statuses related to awarding federal financial aid.
