    Description
    Sabre Commercial is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team in the Austin Office.
    Sabre Commercial is an Austin-based commercial general contracting and construction services company operating in the Central Texas region.

    We truly care about our employees and our culture, and have gained recognition from the Austin American-Statesmans Top Work Places competition, ABJs list of the 50 fastest-growing companies in Central Texas over multiple years and the Austin Business Journals list of Best Places to Work three years in a row and also in 2023.The Senior Estimator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the estimating process, including evaluating risk, preparation of budgets, review, understand and complying with theRFP, blueprints, specifications and other documents while also maintaining relationships and profitability throughout the estimating process.

    The Senior Estimator will also be responsible for developing strategies to meet project goals and be able to present cost estimates for internal and external audiences:

    Position Responsibilities And DutiesAble to perform all Estimator responsibilitiesReview project plans, requirements and specificationsCoordinate subcontract solicitations and job walksPrepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricingDetermine labor and construction equipment costsSolicit and communicate with subcontractors through the Bid ProcessSecure all bid documents (bid forms and quote letters)Prepare estimates through all levels of design, i.e., Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documents and Permit DocumentsReview preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with Project TeamConduct Turnover Meetings with Operations TeamAssist jobsite staff with estimates after bid awardMaintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractorsMust be knowledgeable in Excel spreadsheets and functionsFamiliarity with Construction software (SmartBidNet, Timberline, On Screen Take-off and Planswift).Minimum Skills Or Experience RequirementsEngineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 5 -10 years Estimating experienceAbility to read and understand specifications and drawingsAbility to make accurate judgments and calculationsWorking knowledge of construction costs and principlesEstimating experience (quantity takeoffs, engineering design knowledge and project management/supervision experience desirable)Planswift/OSTMicrosoft Suite*It is the policy of Sabre Commercial, Inc.
