Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice - Bowie, United States - Bowie State University
Description
Teaches twelve (12) undergraduate hours (4 courses) per semester.Engage in multiple service-related activities such as student advising, including mentoring and service at the departmental, school, college, professional, and community levels; and actively engage in scholarly or creative activities and a strong demonstration of the emerging record, including the pursuit of external grants-a full-time tenure track faculty position to start Spring 23.

Experience
Area of specialization in either social justice or restorative justice required. Applicants should be strongly committed to excellence in teaching, student advising, and student mentoring.
Preference with being given to candidates with evidence of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level, evidence of academic scholarship, statistics/data analysis teaching experience and research ability/potential to publish in peer-reviewed academic journals, securing external grants, and proof of building community partnerships.
Candidates must be committed to working with diverse populations and be conversant in multicultural issues.The ideal candidate will have the expertise and experience in Critical Criminology pedagogy, Critical Race Theory, and experience in teaching Statistics and Data Analysis at the undergraduate level and working collaboratively across disciplines.
EducationA Ph.
D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Sociology from an accredited institution required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Specialization area open with research interests and experiences in Research Methods, Statistics, Criminology, Social Justice, and Restorative Justice. Ability to teach a majority of the core course in our criminal justice curriculum.
