- Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and assist with repairs of equipment and electrical faults.
- Complete electrical installations and carry out various maintenance duties.
- Assist supervisor with daily monitoring of the work management system.
- Develop material and labor estimates for owned projects.
- Order replacement parts and equipment as needed.
- Communicate with clients in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
- Collaborate with construction workers, plumbers, and other crew members.
- Learn from the Electrical Supervisor and complete all assigned duties.
- Travel to various site throughout the atoll to assist the Electrical Supervisor as needed.
- Adhere to safety rules and regulations in the course of their work.
- Assist in the housekeeping of the workshop and worksite to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist and support other departments, staff and/or trade groups as needed/directed.
- Ability to read and comprehend National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to adapt to changing situations.
- Associates degree or technical school; or a combination or education and experience; or experience in lieu of education
- Two (2) years experience as an electrician
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, kneel and lay horizontally as job may require.
- Must be able to climb a ladder and steps as high as 50 feet.
- Able to work in confined spaces depending on the maintenance requirement.
- Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
- Required to pass a Federal Background Investigation to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- This position is Unaccompanied and will reside on the island of Roi-Namur.
