Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager.

Minimum five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or equivalent in demonstrated abilities directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Minimum 2nd year apprentice in a specific trade or, equivalent combination of education and experience, or equivalent in demonstrated abilities.

Knowledge of the general trades:
i.e., construction, electrical, machine shop. Knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory. Knowledge of principles of HVAC and refrigeration. Knowledge of methods of measurement (tool metrology) as pertains to calibration of process and facilities equipment.

Knowledge of principles of electrical power distribution equipment, including transformers, load centers, breakers, bus ducts, motor control centers (MCC's) and lighting distribution knowledge.

Knowledge of mechanical components including vari-speed drives, gearboxes, gears, bearing chains, couplings, pumps, and mechanical seals. Knowledge of basic telecommunications repair and maintenance.
