    Description

    The Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is dedicated to advancing biomedical research and clinical care through innovative technologies.

    Our research spans genomic and proteomic data mining, machine learning, and bio-surveillance.

    As part of the School of Medicine, we offer access to cutting-edge equipment, renowned guest lectures, and collaborative opportunities with fellow researchers to expand our knowledgebase.


    We are excited to announce an opportunity within the PRoBE Laboratory for Pattern Recognition from Biomedical Evidence, led by Dr.

    Vanathi Gopalakrishnan.

    Our lab focuses on integrative modeling and analytical research, leveraging diverse health data and knowledge to discover biomarkers and systemic patterns underlying biological states.

    The goal is to inform precision disease diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment.

    As a team, we aspire to impact global healthcare by translating our findings into clinical practice, particularly benefiting women across their lifespan.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Machine Learning Development:
    Develop, design, and generate machine learning predictive models.

    Utilize programming languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, and Python for state-of-the-art code development and debugging.

    Curate complex datasets for modeling purposes.


    Code Modification and Enhancement:
    Modify existing Java and Python code to improve functionality and efficiency.

    Experience with AR/VR coding and science is a significant advantage.
