The Program Coordinator performs a variety of duties related to the support of Academic Support Network (ASN) for the Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program on the Polytechnic campus.

This position works collaboratively with a cross-campus workgroup and campus-specific team to provide direct supervision to assigned student staff including, but not limited to, hiring, training, evaluating, and managing schedules.

This position will also assist in the delivery of training content for ASN's student workers. This position is also responsible for assisting in the deployment of ASN's 24/7 learning support model. Position will support student staff involvement in ASN's 24/7 platform.

This position participates in Work+ training for professional staff, mentors ASN's working learners in Work+, and assists in the evaluation of ASN's working learners according to Work+ guidelines.

This position will be under the direct supervision of the Supplemental Instruction Program Manager.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating assigned staff, which may include student and professional staff
  • Work in a shared supervision model to manage the supervision and daytoday functions of the SI Program, which includes but is not limited to:
  • Training new and current student staff
  • Creating and managing student staff schedules
  • Evaluating student staff performance and providing feedback
  • Helping to resolve issues amongst student staff and/or users
  • Assisting with the scheduling and presentation of student employee training, meetings, and workshops
  • Data entry and data reports
  • Support University College's Work+ by engaging in all aspects of the designed program including, but not limited to mentorship, reflective practices, professional development and evaluation of working learners, and use of digital portfolios
  • Monitors and assesses staff through oneonone meetings and provides staff with direction and strategies in how to become more effective in their position
  • Helps student staff develop materials for ASN's 24/7 academic support model.
  • Participates in the design process to design services to support learners at scale using design thinking, analytics, automation, and intelligent systems.
  • Contributes to University College initiatives to improve employee engagement in the design of work, workplace, tools, and processes such that we improve the quality of the employee experience and satisfaction with their work.
  • Ensures the success of ASN's 24/7 academic support model by monitoring student staff participation, providing ongoing feedback, and marketing resources to ASU community.
  • Assists with the coordination and presentation of biweekly staff meetings and training workshops.
  • Assists with coordinating marketing events to promote services
  • Serves on a department committee and represents ASU and ASN at events as needed.
  • Responds to student questions and concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Six years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of tutoring, SI model, or learning center principles
  • Experience as a tutor, writing tutor, SI Leader, teaching or prior experience working in a learning center
  • Experience in developing and facilitating presentations
  • Experience in working with confidential information
  • Demonstrated knowledge of learning center theory
  • Supervisory experience
  • Evidence of effective communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively on a team

Working Environment

  • Required to stand for varying lengths and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
