The Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory in Frankfurt am Main is a leading research institute in the field of legal basic research with over 150 employees.

Its three departments, with over 70 researchers, its outstanding collections in its specialized library, and its numerous national and international collaborations make it a hub for global scientific exchange for those interested in the past, present, and future of legal systems.


We are looking for a doctoral candidate (m/f/d) to join our Fellowship project "The History of European Labor Law" under the supervision of Professor Dr.

Thorsten Keiser and Professor Stefan Vogenauer, to research the following topic:
Wage justice in the Benelux countries in the light of European law

Your responsibilities

You will develop, coordinate, and pursue a dissertation project within the research program in the mentioned area.

You will publish your research results and actively contribute to the research tasks of the institute under the guidance of Professor Stefan Vogenauer and Professor Dr.

Thorsten Keiser.

Your profile

You have completed a university degree in law, humanities, or social sciences with well above-average success.

You have excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, and are willing to acquire German language skills if necessary.
