Summary


The Mechanical Assembler - 2nd Shift position requires proficiency through training and considerable on-the-job experience, provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures and completes work with a limited degree of supervision.

Regularly provides informal guidance and support to less experienced team members. Assembles components per assembly drawings / bill of material. Performs functional testing on assemblies. Tests assemblies per customer and/or division criteria. Operates test equipment in compliance with engineering standards. Applies settings, calibrates and maintains assembly tools.

Job Requirements

  • Perform work in compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality expectations while supporting a production schedule.
  • Execute daily priorities as defined by the supervisor or area lead.
  • Assemble and assist with the testing of mechanical units and control systems in accordance with engineering test procedures.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement and HSSE projects.
  • Good mechanical background.
  • Knowledge of machines, hand tools and power tools needed for assembly.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material moving equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, work orders and drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work, focus and thrive in a very fast paced and noisy work environment.
  • Ability to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • The employee must regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 30 lbs and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and performance to meet production and business needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to HMH Values, Compliance, Integrity and HSSE.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 3+ years mechanical assembly experience.
Desired Characteristics

  • 3+ years of instrumentation and tubing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to read hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience working with offshore drilling equipment, specifically BOP and surface control equipment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and adherence to processes and policies.
  • Experience with Oracle or SAP.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy with numbers.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy and order.
Additional Information

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status.
  • No relocation assistance.
  • 3:00PM 11:30PM Monday through Friday (with weekday and weekend overtime as required).
