- Installs proper warning devices at work sites.
- Mows and sprays City right-of-ways.
- Cuts down and/or trims trees in emergency and non-emergency situations to repair road ways.
- Operates a dump truck in support of construction and repair activities.
- Operates an asphalt paver, vibrating roller, or box blade tractor.
- Operates a snow plow / sander during ice and snow events.
- Operates an excavator / track hoe in tree removal, creek maintenance, demolition, and excavation.
- Operates a bulldozer in road construction, demolition, and landscaping.
- Operates a street sweeper.
- Cleans storm drains.
- Removes trees and cleans storm damage.
- Removes dead animals.
- Assists other crews with transporting materials, equipment and oversized loads.
- Installs, repairs and removes storm drain pipes.
- Loads and unloads trucks by hand or with equipment.
- Maintains City street signs, traffic control devices, barricades, and traffic cones, if assigned.
- Performs routine maintenance on trucks and equipment.
- Performs the duties of the Crew Chief in his or her absence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of relevant city, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
- Knowledge of trucks and light and heavy equipment used in maintenance, construction, and repair activities.
- Knowledge of the materials used in street and stormwater system construction and maintenance.
- Skill in the operation of light and heavy construction equipment.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
- Ability to operate computers for data entry, word processing and/or accounting purposes.
- Ability to operate and repair small/light equipment, such as power tools.
- Ability to operate and repair medium equipment and machinery, such as vehicles or commercial mowers.
- Ability to operate and repair heavy or construction equipment.
- Ability to supervise employees using or repairing heavy or construction equipment.
- Ability to establish policies for using, acquiring, and/or maintaining heavy or construction equipment.

Non-exempt
Under general supervision, operates heavy and light equipment.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Class A CDL Driver's License, Truck and Trailer with no restrictions and tanker endorsement, issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
OSHA 10 and 30 Certifications, FEMA Emergency Management and Pesticide Applicator License, preferred.Physical Requirements
Tasks involve the ability to exert exceptionally strong physical effort in very heavy work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 150 pounds).
