With over a decade of experience as Southern California's highest-rated Sound, Lighting, and A/V Production Company, we are looking to expand our team of skilled leaders in the A/V Industry.

Samson Sound & Lighting is looking for a Full Time Event A/V Manager to join our team.

The Event A/V Manager will lead our Events Team as well as play a large role in our internal management team.

The Event A/V Manager is a client-facing role as they will work closely with our clients before, during, and after each event.

At Samson Sound, we pride ourselves on our relationship-based and client-focused approach to production, and we are seeking someone who will represent us well to our clients.

This manager will ensure that our clients receive consistent and exceptional services and that events are produced at the highest level of quality.


It is the responsibility of the Event A/V Manager to oversee each of the 200+ events we produce each year.

This includes ensuring that the Samson Sound quality, brand, and aesthetic is represented at each event and that team members are mentored in accordance with our company values of teaching and empowerment.

The Event A/V Manager will be responsible for supervising and providing leadership to our teams of production technicians at live events.


Other responsibilities includes but are not limited to: attending company meetings, office and administrative tasks, overseeing equipment and personnel logistics, maintaining equipment, implementing systems and checklists, and assisting with team recruitment and training as a core member of the Samson Sound & Lighting leadership team.


Requirements:


  • 5+ Years of experience as a Sound, Lighting, and/or Video Technician in live event production including inperson, virtual, and hybrid events.
  • 2+ Years of experience live event production management, A/V team leadership, or related management experience required.
  • Knowledge of a widerange of A/V equipment and it's deployment, inventory, and repair.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude when under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills with an emphasis on clearly and courteously communicating with clients.
  • Demonstrated patience, professionalism, and diplomacy with clients when faced with challenging situations or conflicting needs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas in a userfriendly language.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and situations to quickly determine
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, educate, and direct team members.
  • Ability to travel to venues and events in Los Angeles County.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to drive a 14' Box Truck

Responsibilities:


  • Manage Samson Sound team members at events as Team Lead.
  • Oversee the coordination of event production including staffing and equipment logistics.
  • Oversee the setup, deployment, and tech checks of Audio, Lighting, Video, and Projection at Samson Sound events.
  • Identify issues with lighting, sound, video, etc. and ensure that Samson Sound's standards are met at each event.
  • Be the main point of contact for event technicians and provide guidance on issues ranging from technical to interpersonal.
  • Transport equipment to and from events.
  • Develop relationships with venue managers, event planners, and other organizations on behalf of the company.
  • Attend walkthroughs and take client meetings in preparation for events.
  • Participate in the intake of events including taking client calls to understand the scope of their A/V needs.
  • Represent Samson Sound & Lighting to client at events. This includes ensuring that all client needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide guidance to clients on their event needs in accordance with our customerfirst approach to production.
  • Contribute ongoing feedback, ideas, and solutions for continuous improvement of services at events.
  • Manage the creation of processes and workflow for all services, establishing best practices and ensure quality control.
  • Manage the events team including scheduling and reporting.
  • Join the leadership team in developing and providing inoffice training for event technicians.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and feedback to team members ensuring that each technician has the skills to perform their duties and thrive within the company.
