- Estimate new projects as submitted by customers, sales staff, design etc.
- Check routing, with input from production staff, on new items to make sure they are correct.
- Quote tooling costs.
- Get prices from vendors on any items that need to be outsourced.
- Quote new quantities for existing items.
- Keep sales updated on when their quotes will be ready.
- Assist sales personnel as appropriate and assist in generating supplemental sales.
- Look for opportunities to cross train and learn other functions of business.
- Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including safety programs and good housekeeping.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous estimating/computer data entry experience
- Previous experience working in the corrugated industry is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft office; advanced level in excel program.
- Excellent communication skills; customer-oriented. Able to speak effectively to employees, managers, customers, etc. Ability to lead meetings and answer questions.
- Possess a high degree of accuracy. Ability to calculate figures, such as discounts, costs, proportions and volumes.
- Possess a high degree of analytical skill.
- Ability to solve a variety of problems and deal with a variety of situation where only limited information and standardization exist
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, operating instructions, training and procedure manuals.
- Ability to sit, stand, grasp, reach, push, twist, climb, bend, use of keyboard and 10-key, lift at least 50 lbs. as required by the job.
- Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Must have excellent time management skills and be well-organized.
- Possess a high level of demonstrated leadership ability with other members of management, employees and customers.
- Ability to handle employee relations issues and conflict resolution when necessary.
- Ability to teach and coach others to help them learn quickly and efficiently
