    Legal Administrative Assistant
    Location: St. Louis, MO, near the Central West End.
    Pay: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour + Benefits.
    Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday. Overtime as needed.
    Work on-site opportunity.


    We are searching for a Legal Administrative Assistant for our client located in the Central West End. The legal firm is dedicated to providing the highest quality legal representation to their clients. The firm has a long history of representing working men and women in a variety of claims arising out of their employment, including workers' compensation claims, as well as representing individuals who have been injured through the fault of others.

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Legal Administrative Assistant assists attorney(s) through the performance of complex and substantive legal tasks requiring knowledge of legal terminology and the legal process. The Legal Administrative Assistant handles confidential client and firm data professionally and ethically daily and supports the attorneys and office as defined below.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Administrative assistant for partner attorney includes managing emails, calendar, monitoring calls, scheduling conference calls, meetings, and travel arrangements.
    • Schedule and confirm depositions and hearing dates.
    • Format documents into final form, proofread, copy, scan, mail, etc.
    • File/e-file documents with courts and/or agencies
    • Prepare trial exhibits.
    • Transcribe dictation.
    • Draft basic pleadings (extensions, notices of depos, etc.)
    • Maintain retainer agreements, clients, scheduled trials, filings, and motions.
    • Opening/closing files, consistent with department and firm practice.
    • Office duties, including copying, scanning, faxing, time entry, filing, etc.
    • Manage timesheets to ensure hours are maintained for billing purposes.
    • Process incoming and outgoing mail and distribute it appropriately.
    • Backup for receptionist and other legal assistance as needed.
    • Inventory office supplies and marketing materials.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Paralegal Certification a plus
    • Legal Administrative Assistant: 2 years required
    • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
