    Legal Assistant
    Location: St. Louis, MO
    Pay: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour and OT pay as required + Benefits
    Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday
    Work on-site opportunity


    We are searching for a Legal Assistant for our client. The legal firm has a long history of representing working men and women in various claims arising out of their employment and individuals who have been injured through the fault of others.

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Legal Assistant assists attorney(s) by performing legal tasks that require knowledge of legal terminology and the legal process. The Legal Assistant handles confidential client and firm data daily and supports the attorneys and office as defined below.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Assistant for partner attorney includes managing emails, calendar, monitoring calls, scheduling conference calls, meetings, and travel arrangements
    • Format documents into final form, proofread, copy, scan, mail, etc
    • File/e-file documents with courts and/or agencies
    • Prepare trial exhibits
    • Transcribe dictation
    • Draft basic pleadings (extensions, notices of depos, etc.)
    • Maintain retainer agreements, clients, scheduled trials, filings, and motions
    • Manage timesheets to ensure hours are maintained for billing purposes
    • Backup for other administrative positions as needed
    • Other duties as assigned
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Paralegal Certification a plus
    • Legal Administrative Assistant: 2 years required
    • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
