- Project Planning: Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in consultation with clients and senior management.
- Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project expenditures and allocate resources effectively to optimize project outcomes.
- Team Management: Manage, lead, and oversee project personnel, ensuring efficient collaboration and adherence to project objectives and deadlines.
- Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients, agencies, and external project leads. Provide regular updates on project progress and address concerns promptly.
- Fieldwork Coordination: Organize and supervise field activities, including surveying, excavation, and artifact documentation. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Enforce safety protocols to safeguard the well-being of project personnel during fieldwork operations.
- Data Management: Adhere to protocols for data collection, recording, and analysis. Verify the accuracy and integrity of archaeological findings.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports summarizing project methodologies, findings, and conclusions in accordance with applicable state and federal laws/regulations and guidelines promulgated by State Historic Preservation Offices or Tribal Historic Preservation Offices.
- Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Anthropology/Archaeology
- Registered Professional Archaeologist, or the qualifications for registration.
- A minimum of four years of full-time experience in Cultural Resources Management or a comparable academic setting with at least two years of full-time, professional experience as an archaeological field director;
- In-depth understanding of archaeological field methods for all phases of work, including the use of GPS equipment for field recordation;
- A working understanding of historic preservation law, particularly Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and 36 CFR Part 800;

Goodwin & Associates, Inc.Archaeological Project Manager
Goodwin & Associates, Inc. is seeking an Archaeological Project Manager. Expertise in the archaeology of eastern North America, the Lower Mississippi River Valley, the Great Plains, and/or the Midwest desired. The successful candidate for this position must possess a graduate degree (M.A., M.S., or Ph.D.) in Anthropology/Archaeology, and be a Registered Professional Archaeologist, or have the qualifications for registration. The successful candidate will have worked in the field of Cultural Resources Management (CRM), or have served in a similar capacity in an academic setting, for at least four years, including two calendar years of supervisory experience as an archaeological field director. The applicant must be a self-starter with strong organizational, verbal, and writing skills; the ability to work well as part of a team; experience in all phases of archaeological investigations from desktop research to data recoveries[JAM2] ; and, familiarity with GPS and/or GIS technologies.
