Radio Hotel and Jalao NYC are looking for an exceptional individual with hotel experience to handle events for Jalao as well as social media for both the hotel and restaurant. This Events and Marketing Manager position
will oversee the promotion, sales, coordination, and facilitation of Catering events, to ensure the maximum satisfaction of customers. Responsible for assisting properties with all marketing, digital marketing, branding, programming, and public-facing initiatives, as directed by corporate and the property's General Manager.


About the Hotel and Restaurant


The Radio Hotel is a 221room hotel, mixed-use high rise, located at 2420 Amsterdam Avenue in the Washington Heights area in Northern Manhattan.

The Hotel incorporates the unique look and feel of the Washington Heights neighborhood, catering to both the local Latin community and international travelers looking for affordable yet stylish rooms below the steep asking prices of downtown Manhattan hotels.

This 22-story building combines hotel, restaurant - Jalao NYC, retail, and office functions in vibrantly stacked blocks, reflecting the vivacious character of the neighborhood.

Washington Heights is the 5th largest neighborhood in New York with a population of over 150,000 people, but it is currently served by just two hotels.

The event space adds a facility that did not previously exist in the neighborhood, offering locals a space to host weddings and other parties with spectacular views from the adjacent rooftop terrace.

Essential Job Functions:


  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and work to attain preset monthly revenue goals for Events, as determined by the Jalao General Manager.
  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure proper execution of all aspects of all events, including menu selection; room set up and service; flowers and decorations; entertainment; and all other special requests.
  • To create banquet event orders, detailing each event's purpose, menu, décor, billing instructions, and all special instructions to operational departments of the hotel.
  • To produce all correspondence, including inquiry letters, contractual letters, deposit confirmations, and "thank you" letters.
  • To provide prompt and professional response, over the telephone or through correspondence, to all inquiries regarding hotel facilities and catering capabilities.
  • To block appropriate space to best, utilize hotel facilities.
  • To personally conduct informational tours of the facility with all prospective clients.
  • To meet and greet clients prior to scheduled functions and introduce them to key hotel staff.
  • To actively pursue prospective clients for future and possible repeat business, both over the telephone and during social and professional events, and trade shows.
  • Train staff on all departmental SOPs and ensure there is understanding and compliance.
  • To use good time management skills in prioritizing work and scheduling appointments.
  • To communicate lastminute changes in group functions to hotel and restaurant staff and ensure satisfactory followup.
  • To create a daily prospectus this includes the above information for each group's food and beverage events.
  • To act as a liaison between restaurant, hotel and groups, ensuring space is appropriately set up, and handling any special client requests.
  • To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.
  • To comply with and promote all company policies and procedures.
  • To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
  • To always maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and to practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others.
  • Focus on safety and the following of safe work practices by yourself and those under your direction. Including compliance with company safety standards, and state and local regulations that pertain to your department.
  • To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
  • To perform other tasks, including crosstraining, as directed.

MARKETING:


  • Serve as the marketing champion for the hotel, coordinating and managing all marketing projects to ensure everything public facing be it collateral, programming, events, digital material, and the like is on brand.
  • Support digital and offline content marketing efforts to meet goals for increased awareness, traffic growth, and lead generation.
