    University Housing is looking for energetic individuals with excellent customer service skills to join our custodial teams Custodians keep University Housing spaces safe and clean for residents, staff, and guests. We are a fast-paced organization with high quality standards, and work with residents, students, staff, and guests on the UW-Madison campus.

    Responsibilities: Cleans facilities, removes waste and recycling, and monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours. Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas.

    60% Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables

    5% Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities

    5% Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed

    5% Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs

    10% Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice

    10% Prepares, services, and/or maintains residence hall and dining facilities for residents and guests

    5% Assists residents and guests with event setup and take down

    Tasks:

    Provides support and assists as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency

    Communicates with residents and guests to address needs and service requests

    Completes work in occupied or vacant residence hall and dining spaces

    Demonstrates and role models exceptional customer service

    Promotes and participates in a collaborative team environment

    Maintains and implements prescribed cleaning standards

    H.S. Diploma

    Qualifications: - 3 months of previous cleaning, custodial, hospitality, or related experience within an academic, commercial or residential environment preferred.

    6 months of previous continuous employment preferred.

    Work Schedule: Multiple vacancies may be available. Schedule will be determined upon hire.

    Schedules for 1st shift positions are primarily 8 hour shifts, Monday through Friday, set between the hours of 7:30am - 4:30pm. Some flexibility may be available for different workdays, shift lengths, and/or start times. Schedule will be determined upon hire.

    Schedule for 2nd shift positions is primarily 3:00pm - 1:30am, with 10 hour shifts on a two-week rotating schedule. Schedule will be determined upon hire.

    Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand. Afterhours, holiday work, and weekend work may be required as scheduled and operationally needed.

    Work Type: Full Time: 100%

    It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

    Appointment Type, Duration: Ongoing/Renewable

    Salary: **Minimum** $15.00 HOURLY

    English proficiency with the ability to speak, read, write, and understand verbal instructions
